Fashion Magazine Covers: Metro & Mega June 2011

Ola!

I was browsing my Facebook Newsfeed and I found the June covers of Mega and Metro Magazines.

Metro, in its Hollywood: Big Style Issue, features frequent cover girl Kim Chiu with 90210's Matt Lanter. He was given the honor of being the first American to grace the magazine's cover.
It was definitely a surprise featuring him in the cover, but I would actually like to have them both in a one page cover and I like Matt's pose in the first cover with Kim's pose in the second cover and vice versa.
Honestly, I'm kind of tired seeing Kim Chiu in another magazine cover since we just saw her last month in Mega and Preview's October 2010 issue. I would like to see new faces!
Since I heard Matt Lanter would be in the cover, I was expecting he would wear something fashion-forward or trendy. However, he was there in a patterned shirt and gray blazer. Somehow, I see the vision of focusing on the extravagance of Kim's gowns with Matt's simplicity, but I hoped they styled him more. It would be wonderful to see them side by side in a one-page cover so the chemistry would be more evident.
The gowns Kim is wearing are definitely dramatic, as I loved the feathered gown more.
I hope to see their chemistry in their editorial feature.

At last, Mega!
Mega features three of the best models we can offer the world in their Pinoy Pride Issue. It is definitely refreshing to see our models gracing the covers again, but I hoped it was a 3-cover special, with each of their own signature looks and poses.
This would be a cover to beat because it features the Philippines' Supermodels. Charo Ronquillo, 2005 Ford Models' Supermodel of the World 2nd Runner-up, Charlene Almarvez, 2009 1st Runner-up and Danica Magpantay, 2010 Grand Prize Winner grace the cover in gorgeous scarlet and nude dresses.
As I've said, it would be better to see them in their own covers than cramming them up in one, or a better posing since Charo kind of looks awkward in that pose. Maybe they should have modeled their faces side by side.
However, I still love the fact that Mega got the 3 supermodels to pose in a cover.
This would surely feature a breath-taking editorial spread.
Way to go Mega!

Preview Magazine has not posted it's June cover yet but gave a clue in its Facebook Fanpage: "our next cover girl is a tv and movie actress...oh she can sing too." I hope the cover girl is someone new and refreshing to see in a fashion magazine cover.
